Though surgical facial rejuvenation procedures are often quite effective, they can also come at a cost. These procedures can produce scarring and require long recovery times. Avoid invasive surgeries – experience quality facial revitalization with the help of a chemical peel. With a chemical peel, you can get smooth, beautiful skin, taking years off of your appearance.

The Benefits of Chemical Peels

Are you interested in a chemical peel treatment for your face, hands, or neck? The chemical peel can improve the skin’s look and texture in any of these areas. Our chemical peels can be used to ease away or reduce the appearance of several skin irregularities, including wrinkles and age lines, acne, uneven pigmentation, rough areas, sun damage, scars and acne scars, liver and age spots, and freckles. These issues typically come about as a result of the aging process and consistent sun exposure.

I love Laser MD. I have went for a couple services, Juvederm & chemical peels. They went great, and I have had some consultations about other services. Staff seems knowledgeable, I feel comfortable and the offices are very clean. I wouldn’t go anywhere else!

How Do Chemical Peels Work?

The chemical peel process involves brushing a specially formulated solution of chemicals onto the skin. This solution creates a controlled removal of the injured skin cells of the superficial skin layers, causing them to slough away over a period of time. In their place, new, fresh skin cells grow, free of any irregularities. the rejuvenated layers of skin have a smoother, youthful, and more radiant appearance.

The Different Types of Chemical Peels

There are a wide variety of chemical peels with different solutions and different intensities designed to address different types of skin concerns. In general, there are three different depts that chemical peels come in:

Light chemical peels – Also known as superficial peels. This chemical peel focuses on addressing the surface layer of skin to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and treat acne, poor skin tone, and dryness. Recommended

Medium chemical peels – A more intense type of chemical peel that penetrates to the middle layers of the skin. Medium peels are typically used to treat wrinkles, lines, age spots, discoloration, rough skin patches, and other skin conditions like actinic keratosis.

Deep chemical peels – The strongest type of chemical peel that reaches form the surface layer of skin to the lower layer od the dermis. Deep chemical peels can treat more prominent wrinkles and lines, scars, age spots, and freckles. Deep chemical peels are the most intense peel and can only be performed once.

What to Expect After Your Chemical Peel

Following a light chemical peel, patients can expect some redness, dryness, and mild irritation on the skin. A topical solution can be applied to help soothe the skin. After medium peels, redness, swelling, and some tightness may occur. There may be some discomfort that can be managed with over-the-counter medication and some crust may develop in the skin as it heals. Deep peels can cause significant swelling and redness. some patients may experience a burning or throbbing sensation. the skin will need to be dressed and pain medication can be provided.
